Controlling Your Fear Of Being Alone
Psychologists refer to fear as being an instant emotional reaction to a threatening situation or a perceived feeling of being under attack. It is the feel of being in a dangerous position. Some may also argue that fear is all about your emotions and your specific response to a stimulus such as a disease, pain or in feeling in danger. Many will have a serious fear of being alone.
People who enjoy being around other people to the extent that they always want to be encircled by them, could be labeled as someone who suffers from the fear of being alone. These people will feel uncomfortable if they are outside the company of others, so they will spend most of their time at social events, trying to get as much attention as possible from loved ones.
This type of fear is called monophobia, which speaks to the fear of solitude. This phobia will cause an individual to experience panic attacks and they suffer ill-treatment under the hands of other people, who will abuse them. Some may even abuse them by creating situations to aggravate the person by causing them to be alone in solitude, as well as to jeer at the phobic person’s condition.
Along with low self confidence and low self esteem, this condition will carry other symptoms such as excessive sweating, dry mouth, sickness and nausea. Individuals who suffer from the condition will also experience respiratory irregularities and may be unable to speak properly. They will shake rigorously from time to time and may even lose control over their sanity, when they are placed in isolation.
Drugs and medication are useful options in treating persons who suffer with the fear of being alone; however most medication will come with serious side effects. Moreover, there is no guarantee that these drugs will be effective in curing the disease. And, of course, not everyone believes that masking the symptoms with medication is the best option anyway.
Another option of treating this emotional trauma is using self-help NLP methods. These methods will allow the phobic person to appreciate and understand the importance of spending quality time in privacy.
