Have you ever considered that your breathing could be contributing to your panic attacks? Breathing is a necessity of life that usually occurs without much thought. How you are breathing can be both a factor in creating and treating panic attacks.

Stressed Out By Your Breathing?

There are essentially two common ways to breathe, from the chest and from the abdomen. When people are feeling stressed or anxious they have a tendency to breathe from the chest in short, shallow breaths. Doing this can upset the carbon dioxide and oxygen balance in the body which can lead to a number of physical symptoms, these include increased heart rate, muscle tension and dizziness.

Abdominal breathing, on the other hand, is characterized by deep, even breaths that are drawn down by the diaphragm. A newborn baby will do this, as will people when they are in a deep sleep – it’s the natural way to breathe.

You can easily determine which way you are breathing with this simple test. Place one hand on your chest and your other hand on your stomach. The hand that moves indicated the type of breathing you are doing – hand on stomach moving? You are abdominal breathing. Hand on chest moving? You are chest breathing. By understanding which breathing mode you are in, you will be on track to being able to control your panic and anxiety.

Breathe Deep and Relax

This easy exercise can be used when you are feeling anxious to help with treating panic attacks. You want to practice this when you are in comfortable surrounding and preferably relaxed so that you can apply it when you start to feel anxious or stressed. (note: if you feel dizzy or uncomfortable at any time stop the exercise right away):

Place one hand on your stomach and slowly inhale through your nose. Try to keep your shoulders relaxed. If you are breathing with your diaphragm you hand should move up and down with each breath.

Don’t try to hold your breath. Exhale through your mouth. Rather than push the air out, let the air exit your body naturally.

Try repeating this several times.

You can increase the relaxing effect of this technique by focusing your attention on the breath. As the air moves in and out of your body focus on your hand moving up and down or the air moving in your nose and out your mouth. This is a breathing meditation.

Practicing this technique will help you use it for preventing and treating panic attacks. The key is to practice it at home so that you can apply it when you start to feel anxious or stressed. Adding this to other methods you may already be using can help you win the battle against panic attacks and anxiety.

Getting Rid Of Anxiety contains methods to help you deal with your panic attacks. Here is one simple method for treating panic attacks that you can start using right away.

It can be incredibly frustrating trying to understand what’s happening during a panic attack, why they’re occurring and what can be done about them. So if you want to know how to stop a panic attack, read on.

It’s a very frightening experience that can leave you rather petrified and shaken. Because of the intense feelings of fear and lack of control, it can be very unpleasant and potentially embarrassing.

You might be surprised just how many people spend so much of their time worrying about the probability of another attack occurring, that they forget to enjoy life itself. If you are continuously worrying about where you might have a panic attack you could be suffering from what is called a panic disorder.

If you’ve been scanning the Internet for information in your search for overcoming panic attacks, you’ve probably found there’s a vast amount of information available. In fact it can be quite difficult to trawl through everything and decide what will and won’t help.

How to stop a panic attack: various methods

When you go to see a doctor to be treated for your anxiety, they will more than likely prescribe an SSRI such as Zoloft and Paxil. These medications are antidepressants that aim to change your brain chemistry.

But there is another way to completely destroy your panic and take back control of your life. It’s not through medication or changing your diet. It’s actually by changing the way your mind perceives panic.

Your panic fuel supply

Your high anxiety fuels your panic. If you take control of those things in your life that are causing anxiety or take control over the way you process anxiety, then you can cut off the supply to your panic. You may decide to take medication, and it can work, but the problem with this is that you’re not dealing with the stress, which means you haven’t dealt with the issue that’s causing it in the first place.

There are various therapies that can help you overcome panic attacks. These include; Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy and CBT. These approaches can help tremendously but they do require a course of treatment.

A powerful alternative

If you suspect that you are experiencing panic attacks, or that you could have an anxiety related dysfunction, it is essential that you see a doctor as soon as you can. A physician will not only be able to diagnose a condition, but may help you fully grasp what you are dealing with, and ways to cope with it. If you don’t get treatment of your panic attacks promptly, here are some things that could certainly come about:

You may possibly manifest a problem referred to as Agoraphobia. The majority think that this condition is fear of closed spaces, but this is not the situation. It in reality is the fear of open spaces, often the fear of being in public. Ordinarily an individual who has this condition has panic attacks when they are around a large number of people. Sometimes panic attacks and Agoraphobia go hand in hand, because the signs and symptoms of both problems are much the same. These signs and symptoms consist of, shortness of breath, tightness in the chest (feeling like you are experiencing a heart attack and feeling like you are going crazy.

Generally, medication used to treat panic and anxiety related disorders are extremely easy to acquire an over dependency to, and if you are not getting correct treatment, it is plausible that you’ll evolve an over-dependency to this sort of medication. Men and women struggling with panic attacks and couldn’t get hold of themselves are often helped by medications to manage their symptoms. It is fundamental that you do not view these medications as ultimate treatments to panic attacks; you need to find out why you have these attacks and try not to be dependent too much on the medication.

Addiction is not the same thing as an over-dependency, but you must remember that in the long term you will have to address the underlying cause of this condition. They can as well become so dependent that they would fail to function properly without the required dosage of particular drugs.

Many people would concur that the medication has been the most effective solution they have tried, but it most certainly should not be the only means of treatment. There are less intensive, less invasive, but equally correct and effective therapies and methods that are usually overlooked due to too much dependence on panic attack medicines.

Depression. Because panic attacks commonly lead to depression, 20% of individuals who suffer from these attacks will be more prone to committing suicide. The link between panic attacks and depression can be viewed from many different standpoints. One explanation is, that due to chronic anxiety that leads to a panic attack, often causes the man or women suffering from the condition to become exhausted.

One more explanation purports to the fact that those folks with panic attacks and also have developed serious cases of agoraphobia are kept from socializing with other human beings and from carrying out the things that they previously enjoyed, resulting to a general feeling of isolation and unhappiness.

Diabetes. Diabetes is categorized as a comorbid disorder, and it has been established that panic attacks, if left untreated could result in such disorders. Research demonstrates that folks with diabetes and who also encountered intermittent episodes of panic attacks are less likely to live quality lives and are definitely more likely to develop complications. Among people with diabetes, panic attacks as well as depression hinder them from efficiently monitoring and managing their blood glucose level.

Substance abuse. Due to the fact that some people turn to drugs and alcohol to help conceal the symptoms of a long-term anxiety disorder, it is likely that those who do this will establish an addiction problem with time. The ones that do depend on other substances often find themselves in a catch 22 situation; this is due to the fact that drugs and alcohol cannot target the underlying cause of panic attacks.

Go to this link on how to stop panic attacks using powerful advanced techniques that work. These techniques will stop your symptoms of anxiety panic attack your confidence will soar and the results will last for a lifetime.

Stress is a factor of everyday life and everyone feels certain levels of both stress and anxiety as they live their lives. The level of tolerance and how this stress is handled will vary from person to person. For some, stress becomes excessive and unbearable which can lead to issues such as depression and other disorders like panic attacks and generalized anxiety disorder.

Even though nothing is guaranteed to work for everyone, there are a few things you can do to help deal with your stresses.

Eat a Healthy, Balanced Diet and Exercise Regularly

Eating healthy and getting regular exercise is good for you on many levels, but did you know that it can also help with stress relief? When you are feeling stressed, going out for a run, mountain bike ride or even a walk can help you feel renewed and energized.

Your mood and your energy levels are affected by what you eat. If you constantly eat deep fried or nutrient low foods then your body is not going to be able to deal with the stresses you put on it as best as it can. Instead, choose a healthier balanced diet, the benefits reach further than helping with stress.

Learn to Laugh

The old cliche that laughter is the best medicine is not too far from the truth. Have you noticed how much kids laugh and play? Life is fun and few young children have real experience with stress. Take time to play with your kids (if you have them) and really let yourself go. Laugh, run, play and just enjoy yourself.

If you don’t have kids then you can still act like a kid… watch a funny show or movie. Do things with your friends that you used to do as a kid. Who said being an adult had to be boring and no fun?

Don’t Keep Your Feelings Locked Up.

Many times it’s difficult to share our problems with other people. We often feel that nobody would care or that there is no point. But keeping your feelings bottled up inside is one of the worst things you can do. It’s really is a good idea to find someone who you can share your feelings with and get things off your chest – it can go a long way to helping you deal with your stress.

With stress seemingly being a natural part of everybody’s life it’s important that you have ways to help dissipate it. These are just a few of the many ways available to do just that, find out which ones work for you… learn them and apply them.

How To Get Rid Of Anxiety will show you many of the best strategies to reduce anxiety and panic. Find out how to stop anxiety attacks by reducing the stress in your life.

If you go to your doctor and explain that you’re suffering from panic and are looking for a way for overcoming panic attacks, they are more than likely to try to suppress the symptoms by writing a prescription for drugs. Doctors don’t have much time to spend with their patients and everyone likes a quick and easy fix, so out come the pills.

If you’ve asked for help from your doctor, you would most probably have been prescribed anti-depressants either as a tricylcic anti-depressant or a Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitor (SSRI), both of which aim to reduce the panic symptoms.

Medication can help, but for many, they are not the best or most desired option. In fact, there are other more natural remedies for panic attacks and anxiety. Methods that are very effective for dealing with anxiety attacks, natural remedies do exist and you don’t have to use medication.

I’m sure you wonder why on earth you’re suddenly suffering panic attacks. If you want to cure panic attacks, then it does help to understand what’s causing them in the first place. Certain medical conditions can trigger a panic attack, including Hyperthyroidism and Hyperventilation syndrome, the symptoms of which can go on to cause a panic attack. Above all this though, the main cause of your panic, is your anxiety.

Reduce anxiety and destroy panic attacks

You can effectively treat panic attacks simply by reducing your stress and anxiety. You can do this by making changes to your daily activities today. Here are 3 sure-fire tips you can use immediately:

1) Increase your physical activity, go ahead and choose a sport that you enjoy and make sure you create a routine around this. If you enjoy it, you’ll keep doing it.

2) Look at what you eat and drink and cut out items that stimulate your nervous system, such as caffeine and sugar.

3) Develop the habit of creating some alone time. Lock yourself away in a room and practice deep abdominal breathing, yoga or even self-hypnosis for just 10 minutes a day.

Overcoming panic attacks: Resort to the human mind

Forget medication. Eliminate panic attacks for good using the power of your mind. Overcoming panic attacks is easy. Here’s how: http://www.curepanic-attacks.com

Stress and anxiety are more prevalent in today’s fast paced world. If you are one of those people suffering from an excessive amount of anxiety, then the following information should help answer some questions as well as provide you the one step solution towards anxiety management.

Anxiety Disorders

Perhaps the most common anxiety disorder is GAD, or Generalised Anxiety Disorder. In this case, there is no specific stressor that is adding to the general anxiety levels. Instead many things can contribute to a person’s concern and worry. These can be just daily activities.

We can become very used to our anxiety levels so much so, that they become very normalised, without noticing just how negatively it’s influencing our life. So what’s a normal level of stress and how do we know when it is too much for us?

Here are some indicators of excessive stress:

1) Worrying about your job

2) Feeling nervous in many different places

3) Struggling to stem the flow of your negative thoughts

4) Worrying continuously about everyday things

There are some great effective techniques that you can use to reduce your overall level of anxiety. It is possible to start controlling anxiety and in so doing begin to regain a sense of control over your life. Anxiety management is something you can learn to do on a daily basis.

Fo anxiety management to work, you need to relax yourself physically and mentally and do so frequently. It’s no good just trying it once or twice and wondering why nothing has improved. There are many approaches, some of which include; self hypnosis, yoga, meditation, and even increasing level of exercise (one of the best methods for reducing stress).

Here is a quick and easy approach you can use in the comfort of your own home to mentally relax:

1) Find a quiet space, sit down and close your eyes

2) Begin processing relaxation by breathing in and out very slowly through your nose, ensuring that you exhale twice as long you inhale.

3) Continue to breathe in this way for five deep breaths. Then begin to imagine that you’re in a place you find is so relaxing and comforting. Really use all your senses to build up this experience noticing what you see and hear and really focus on that feeling of relaxation.

All you need to do is practice this for up to 10 minutes a day and you will begin to master anxiety management.

For more information on anxiety management or for effective online therapy, click on the following link: bristol hypnotherapy and see how you can eliminate anxiety for good.

Are these statistics surprising?

There are nearly 2.4 million Americans who suffer from one of the most common anxiety disorders, namely panic disorder. It’s been recorded that in any given week approximately 46,153 people suffer from this terrifying problem. But is there a cure for panic attacks?

But what exactly is a panic attack? If you have never experienced an attack before, then it’s very likely, unless someone has mentioned it before, that you will have no idea as to what was happening. So how do you know what a panic attack feels like?

Here are some very common symptoms of a panic attack:

1) Tingling feelings in your hands or feet

2) Palpitations of the heart

3) An increase in your breathing rate

4) Chest pains

5)	Dizziness

6)	Choking

7)	Fear of death
Hot and cold flushes

9)	Sweating

The most common reported symptom is ‘heart palpitations’, closely followed by a fear of losing control. If this sounds like you, then take comfort knowing that there is a cure for panic attacks.

Learn how to stop panic attacks in their first stage

One of the symptoms of a panic attack is fast and shallow breathing. So it would make sense to try to reverse the symptoms and by doing so, help you gain a sense of control over your panic attack. Try this technique to quickly stop your panic progressing any further.

Breathe slowly through your nose and make sure you’re pushing out your diaphragm or abdominal area and not your chest. The easiest way to do this is to place your hand on your stomach and as you breathe in, push your stomach out. This will reduce hyperventilation, which causes dizziness.

Regain control over your life and destroy panic now

What happens when you panic?

What happens when you panic?

The first thing to realise for you start controlling panic attacks, is that you don’t have to be afraid of them, as they will never kill you. It is an incredibly scary experience and it may seem like you’re having a heart attack or dying but take comfort from the fact that everything is fine, it’s just an extreme version of what is called the ‘fight or flight’ response.

The fight or flight response is an inbuilt mechanism that helps us cope with dangerous situations. It is there for our survival. When you experience a panic attack, you’re essentially experiencing the fight or flight response, only this is an exaggerated version of it. Strangely, your panic attack is trying to do good thing!

Whenever we experience a dangerous situation, we need to respond immediately. When this happens our adrenaline levels will raise, respiration rate increases and our heart pumps blood around our system faster. This physiological response happens to prepare us to either fight the threat or run away in the opposite direction. We need to respond quickly and therefore our survival mechanism needs to be strong enough and intense enough to be effective.

A panic attack only differs in intensity and in the absence of any immediate or apparent danger.

Begin controlling panic attacks

Typically during a panic attack, you begin to focus on your internal experience. What this means is that you begin to amplify the experience and the intensity begins to worsen. You’ve probably found that the harder you try not to focus on your panic the harder it becomes and just like a vicious circle, it gets worse and worse. You will more than likely begin to catastrophize the situation. This means you begin to think in a very negative way. Thoughts such as “I’m going to die”!

Here are some things you can do to begin controlling panic attacks. These tactics aim to reverse the symptoms:

1) Place your hand on your abdomen and begin to breathe in and out very slowly through your nose.

2) Focus your attention away from yourself. You can easily do this by striking up a conversation with somebody else.

3) Start doing something physical such as going for a jog. This can really help to relieve the tension.

4) Manage your negative thought processes, as these can have a tremendous impact on your experience.

One way to control your thoughts is to remind yourself that panic attacks are not dangerous. So if for example, you start saying to yourself; “I’m losing control, I’m losing control, I can’t handle myself”, latch onto the positive alternative such as, “I am confident and calm and can handle this easily”.

Be in control

There are other very powerful methods you can learn in the comfort of your own home to help you start controlling panic attacks.

I can’t forget the first time I was attack by my anxiety; it’s the most terrible incident I experience in my entire life. At first I’m not aware that I’m experiencing anxiety attack until I remember what my friend says about her anxiety issue “You will never know when this anxiety attacks you. It was the most dreadful feeling ever. You can’t breathe. Your heart start to pump uncontrollably and you’ll perspire more than normal”. It hits me, I’m experiencing anxiety attacks. Most people have a hard time overcoming their anxiety attacks.

People who suffer from this anxiety issues, believes that no one can help them. They feel so restless about this, but thanks to this group of people who can help them deal with their anxiety attacks. These anxiety support groups experience the same issue as I do. They’re everywhere. You can find them on the net, or in the society. They are willing to extend their hands to help you, because they know the feeling of being attack by their anxiety.

Through anxiety support group with the help of therapy, people start to realized the cause of their anxiety, why they feel so alone and sad. And as days goes by, they start to live again and get their life back together. People have different way to handle their stress. There are some who can manage it well, but others can’t. They feel like their stress is burning them up and worst, stress control their life. They’re affected by too much work; they don’t know how to handle it anymore. Other people manage it by over eating, and some don’t eat anymore. And there are people who doesn’t sleep anymore and start to get irritated.

Too much stress is not good. It’s normal to feel stress especially if you’re working a lot. Lucky for those people who can handle their stress, but some people doesn’t know how to handle it. Others deal with their stress through eating a lot, some don’t eat anymore. There are people who feel irritable and others can’t sleep. Stress is normal, you can feel stress anytime. In work, family, or even friends can cause you stress. It’s a short term and disappears especially if you know how to handle it well. If you feel too much pressure and stress is affecting how you function, that’s the time it’s not normal anymore. Your stress turns out to be an anxiety disorder.

Nowadays there are various treatment options for anxiety disorders. Anxiety support group is the best and cheapest option to treat this kind of problem. These groups are those people who suffer and experience the same issue as I did. They share their experiences and help us in coping anxiety disorders. They understand what were going through and they make you feel that we’re not alone and they’re always there them to listen and gave you advice.

It will be a big help if you will go to an anxiety support group program. They will help you to stand up again. At first it’s very annoying but once you feel at ease with your group members, you feel comfortable telling your own stories and experiences. You can now share everything and don’t feel ashamed anymore. A compassionate, experienced, and considerate will also help you deal with this problem.
